The roots of modern music are in jazz -- so watch us pull it up by the roots! 80's Redeux! Spandex. Preppies. MTV. Spiked hair and moussed hair and BIG hair. Turned up collars. Skinny ties. Parachute pants. Pebbles ponytails. And wildly eclectic music. We will open old AND new doors for musicians and listeners alike who love the music of the 80's. "Jump" "Brass In Pocket" "Love Will Never Do" ... Heart, Squeeze, Van Halen, Fleetwood Mac, Pretenders, and many more! We will re-live and revive these great 80's anthems with Savannah favorites Jane Ogle on vocals, Jeff Powell on guitars, Marc Chesanow on bass, Billy Hoffman on drums, and Jared Hall on keys. (Like Bill and Ted would always say, "Most Excellent!”)

  4. "The Favourite"

    January 23, 2019, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Tybee Post Theater

“The Favourite” is a deliciously tawdry black comedy that’s also a surprisingly affecting period drama taking place in the somewhat fictionalized court of Queen Anne. In early 18th-century England, a frail Queen Anne occupies the throne and her close friend Lady Sarah governs the country in her stead, while tending to Anne's ill health and mercurial temper. But when new servant, the ambitious Abigail, arrives, a love triangle ensues. Although its multiple Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and Critics' Choice awards nominations make it an Academy Awards frontrunner, this is not your typical Oscar-bait historical drama with formally fancy costumes and stilted dialogue. Quite the opposite: “The Favourite” is an unapologetically profane, bracingly biting and wildly compelling tale of royal power plays fueled by three virtuoso actresses -- Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz-- portraying refreshingly complex women.

  1. TIPD VIP Luncheon - Neighbors Helping Neighbors

    January 28, 2019, 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ The Old School Cafeteria

TIPD-VIP TYBEE ISLAND ADULT GROUP HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS TIPD Chief Robert Bryson has created a group propelled by adult residents giving back to each other - helping to accomplish whatever needs to be done for the comfort and companionship of fellow residents. The YMCA has come on board to give their support, and our restaurants have come forward, too, giving their goods and support to this project. Visit with your neighbors, and learn more about what we can do for our friends on the island. Our ultimate goal is for a kinder, happier group of helpful neighbors on Tybee. If you are unable to attend, due to health or other needs, you are one of our more cherished VIP’s. We are seeking to offer our help. If you are not needing help, we need you to help others, and if you need help getting the garbage out from your second story house, but have a need to give back, well… we need you too! Attend these monthly meetings with island restaurants contributing free lunches!
