  1. Girls Night Out at the Movies “Singing' in the Rain”

    March 23, 2017, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Tybee Post Theater

Originally posted as "20th Century Women", it is corrected to be "Singing' in the Rain" After “La La Land", we picked the film that launched Hollywood musicals & is still considered the best of its genre. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds & Donald O'Connor star in a spectacular production filled with memorable songs, lavish routines & the fabulous song-&-dance number in the rain. Set during the advent of "talkies," Don Lockwood has risen to stardom during Hollywood's silent-movie era - paired with the beautiful, jealous & dumb Lina Lamont. When Lockwood becomes attracted to young studio singer Kathy Selden, Lamont has her fired. But with the introduction of talking pictures, Lockwood finds his career in jeopardy after audiences laugh when they hear Lamont speak in her shrill voice for the first time, until the studio decides to use Selden to dub her voice. Your $10 ticket gets you this fine film, a complimentary glass of wine & a pack of hankies. You bring the shoulder to cry on.
