  1. "Spider-Man: Homecoming"

    August 2, 2017, 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM @ Tybee Post Theater

The perfect grand finale to our summer of Family Friendly Movies, the new Spider-Man: Homecoming is clever, fun and true to the Spider-Man spirit, according to all the positive reviews, which agree that this take on everyone's favorite web-slinger is thoroughly entertaining. It’s a fun, tween-friendly adventure with one of Marvel's most enduringly popular characters. Starring an actual teen, Tom Holland, as the super-hero high-schooler Peter Parker, the story takes young Spidey home after his experience with the Avengers, and now under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark. He starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man, but he also tries to return to his normal daily routine. But, of course, that can’t last long and Peter must soon put his powers to the test when the evil Vulture emerges to threaten everything that he holds dear. It’s an exclusive two-day only run: Wed.-Thurs, Aug. 2-3, showings at 3 and 7 pm.

  1. Weather Warning Siren Test

    August 2, 2017, 12:00 PM - 12:30 PM @ Island-wide

CEMA tests the county's weather warning siren systems each month on Wednesday at noon. During a real emergency event, the sirens will go off for three minutes, immediately followed by a voice announcement describing the type of emergency. During testing, the siren sounds for 30 seconds, followed by 30 minutes of additional, silent testing, and only after the silent testing completes, there will be a verbal announcement that "This is a test." In the event of inclement weather, during which the siren might be misinterpreted as a real weather emergency, testing will be cancelled. You may also subscribe to Tybee's warning system to learn about weather emergencies, road closures, utility outages, calendar events, and more, through your choice of email, telephone, and/or text message by signing up at https://ga-tybeeisland.civicready.com/Subscriptions.
