    The Infrastructure Committee meets to discuss water, sewer, road, and other infrastructure issues each month, usually the second Thursday from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Conference Room in the Burke Day Public Safety Building at 78 Van Horn.   1. Regular City Council Meeting

    September 27, 2018, 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM @ Courtroom/Council Chambers

    Consent Agenda Consideration begins at 6:30 PM Regular Meeting begins at 7:00 pm and continues until all business on the agenda has been addressed Council Meetings take place on the second and fourth Thursday each month and are broadcast live on Comcast Cable Access Channel 7 Thereafter, recorded meetings are rebroadcast Mon, Wed, Fri, and Sat at both 10am and 7pm. Video-on-demand recordings can be found at http://cityoftybee.viebit.com. Agendas are typically published the Friday before the meeting in the City's WebLink archives at http://weblink.cityoftybee.org/weblink/0/fol/16/Row1.aspx. To Address Council about existing agenda items, please speak during public comments. To add to the agenda, file an Agenda Request with the City Clerk by noon, Wednesday, eight days prior to the Meeting! Visit City Hall or our web site to obtain the form.     South beach walks depart from the science center and you’ll join one of our knowledgeable marine science educators on a guided walk of Tybee’s south beach. Learn about the dynamics of Georgia’s barrier islands, the importance of the intertidal zone, the forces behind the waves, Tybee’s unique tidal surge, and the role that sand dunes perform in keeping Tybee protected.

    During a Turtle Talk, you’ll learn about anatomy and natural adaptations of sea turtles, discuss Tybee’s Sea Turtle Project conservation efforts, and meet our resident loggerhead sea turtle. Based on program content, Turtle Talks are recommended for participants 6 years and older.

  4. $5 Marsh Treks

    September 27, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    On a marsh trek, you’ll enjoy a hands-on exploration of Georgia’s salt marsh, searching the mud for fiddler crabs, snails, and more. Learn about adaptations necessary for survival in this environment, how the marsh functions as a nursery for many organisms, a filter for pollutants, and as an abundant food source. Please wear closed-toed, closed-heel shoes, such as rain boots or old tennis shoes (no flip flops or Crocs) and expect to get muddy. Marsh Treks meet off-site, on the north end of the island at Spanish Hammock. Directions are provided with paid program confirmation.

Public Safety Committee

    In months where there is only one Council meeting (during some summer months as well as for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays), other times will be announced when known. The Public Safety Committee usually meets the fourth Thursday of each month in the conference room at the Public Safety Building at 78 Van Horn, at 10:00 AM. The Committee may also meet at other times as conditions dictate. Agenda are usually available within 24 hours preceding the meeting and will be posted in the WebLink archives when available.
