    Eligibility

    Are you a local non-profit on Tybee Island? Grant funding may be available for you.

    • Must be a registered 501(c)3 or (c)6 organization to be considered.

    Required Documentation

    • Notarized Affidavit
    • 501(c)3 or (c)6 verification
    • Current Financial Statements
    • Current Budget

  2. Program Overview:

    The City of Tybee Island Nonprofit Grant Program is designed to support verified nonprofit organizations that contribute to the betterment of the Tybee Island community. Grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 are available, subject to funding availability. This program aims to fund projects that provide a need or service that is mutually beneficial for both the nonprofit organization and the city.

    Guidelines and Information

    Nonprofit Grant applications are typically accepted and awarded on an annual basis. The award amount is dependent on the amount of funds available and approved by the Tybee Island City Council. The Nonprofit Grant Review Committee includes the City of Tybee Communication and Outreach Director, Main Street Coordinator, Main Street Chairman, Community Member, and a Tybee Island City Council Member. 

    Eligible Applicants:

    • Applicants must be a verified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in or serving Tybee Island.
    • Organizations must demonstrate a clear community benefit in their proposed project.

    Priority funding will be given to organizations who are proposing projects focused on the community needs listed below.

    Eligible Projects:

    Grant applications should reflect projects that enhance the community and align with the city’s goals. Projects must specifically benefit the residents and visitors of Tybee island.

    Examples of qualifying projects include but are not limited to:

    • Beautification Initiatives: Landscaping, public space enhancements, murals, and other aesthetic improvements.
    • Sustainability: Organized efforts to maintain Tybee Island’s natural beauty and environmental health.
    • Community Events and Entertainment: Events, educational programs, and recreational activities that bring residents together.
    • Historic Preservation: Projects aimed at maintaining and restoring Tybee Island’s historical landmarks and sites.
    • Off-Season Visitation: Programs or events specifically targeting off-season visitation.

  4. Please provide a detailed description of your project or program, including its objectives, target audience, and expected outcomes. Attach additional pages if needed.

  5. Budget and Justification

    Provide a detailed budget outlining how the requested funds will be utilized. Include specific costs such as materials, staffing, venue costs, etc. Note that the grant cannot be used to waive alcohol license fees. Attach additional pages if needed.

  6. Describe how your project or program will positively impact the Tybee Island community and how success will be measured. Attach additional pages if needed.

  7. Reimbursement Process Acknowledgment:*

    I understand that this grant is reimbursement-based, and I agree to submit all necessary documentation, including receipts and proof of payment, to receive funding.
