Greetings Neighbors and Friends of Tybee Island,
I want to assure you that our staff and council members are working diligently to address our city’s daily needs, while at the same time taking necessary precautions to keep us all safe from COVID-19. We have decided to keep City Hall and non-emergency services closed at least thru Tuesday, March 24. We hope to reopen to the public on Wednesday, however we will not decide until Monday at the earliest.
As you may have already heard, we have closed the beaches and city parking lots, and also banned the public consumption of alcohol for the foreseeable future. We have not closed Highway 80. Highway 80 is still open to traffic at this time.
We also have extended a grace period and suspended late fees for business/occupational licenses and utility bills. You may continue to mail in your tax bills or put tax bills and water bills in the drop box in front of city hall.
Please keep yourself and your loved ones safe, and know that we are doing our part to protect our beloved island home.
Best Regards,
Mayor Shirley Sessions
City of Tybee Island, Georgia
