TYBEE ISLAND, GA - Georgia DOT wants the traveling public to be aware of upcoming nighttime lane closures starting Wednesday, October 21 on US 80 at Bull River Bridge then moving to Lazaretto Creek Bridge as contractor performs core penetration test into the marsh bottom.
The lane closures are schedule between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly in a ten night on and four night off schedule with an anticipated completion on December 22. No work is schedule during upcoming holiday weeks of November 23 through the 29 and December 23 through January 4, 2021. If unforeseen delays occur, work will resume January 5, 2021.
Drivers should watch for advance warning signs and obey road crew flaggers. Law enforcement will assist with traffic control to enhance safety.
This is preliminary work for the future US 80 two bridge replacement project.
