TYBEE ISLAND – The City of Tybee Island is working with the Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) to watch the path of Hurricane Elsa. The City is at OPCON 4, which includes early preparation and monitoring conditions.
At this time it is too early to determine impacts to the local area, however, we encourage residents and visitors to monitor weather reports and revisit personal hurricane preparation plans. Based on the storm’s current timeline and path, the area could see impacts by Wednesday, July 7.
Unless the storm situation changes drastically over the weekend, the city will issue the next update on Monday, July 5.
