The City of Tybee Island has opened a 30-Day public comment period on two proposed activities. You can provide comments by taking our survey, attending a virtual public meeting or attending an in-person meeting.
THE ISSUES
TRAFFIC SPEED CAMERAS
Blue Line Solutions has approached the City of Tybee Island about implementing a TrueBlue™ School Zone Safety Program. This involves installation of automated traffic cameras on Butler Avenue to monitor speed. The cameras would be operational during school hours, in the school zone surround Tybee Island Marine Academy (TIMA). These cameras will monitor speed and issue citations for excessive speed in the school zone.
SMOKE-FREE BEACH
A pilot program on Tybee Island designating the beach between 14th and 15th Streets as a smoke-free area is ending in May. With the end of the pilot program, please share your thoughts about smoking on the beach.
